Kutumbam is a private family service. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and how we protect it.

1. Data we collect

Account information such as your name, email address, sign-in details, and language preferences.
Family information such as family names, places, relationships, membership, birthdays, anniversaries, and roles.
Content you choose to add, including photos, videos, messages, recipes, calendar events, and family-tree information.
Contact-book details such as names, phone numbers, places, and relationships when you choose to add them.
Subscription and transaction references needed to verify payments. We do not store full card, bank, or UPI credentials.
Basic technical and security information needed to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the service.

2. How we use data

We use this information to provide private family features, authenticate users, show content to approved members, process subscriptions, send requested reminders, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

3. Storage and protection

Family content is stored in protected databases and private file storage. Access rules restrict records and media to authorised members of the relevant family. We use secure connections, access controls, payment verification, and other reasonable safeguards. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

4. Private sharing

Family data is not a public feed. It is shared only with approved members of the relevant family and with service providers needed to operate Kutumbam, such as hosting, authentication, storage, video calls, email, and payment processing. Those providers handle data only for the service they supply.

5. No selling of data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, family data, photos, videos, or contacts. Kutumbam does not use private family content for third-party advertising.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain data while your account or family space is active and as needed for security, legal, payment, and backup obligations. You may remove content or request account or family deletion. A deletion request may have a 30-day cancellation period before permanent processing.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information. Family owners manage membership, while individuals control content and profile information where the app permits.

8. Children’s privacy

Kutumbam is intended for family use. Parents or guardians should decide what information about children is added, supervise their access, and avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.
